ATTENTION JUNIORS!  COLLEGE NOW MICROSOFT OFFICE COMPUTER CLASSES THROUGH QUEENSBOROUGH ARE NOW FORMING FOR THE FALL 2012 TERM.  COURSES ARE OFFERED ON SATURDAY MORNINGS AT 9 AM AND ON MONDAYS AND WEDNESDAYS PERIODS 9 AND 10.  COURSES OFFER UP TO THREE TRANSFERABLE COLLEGE CREDITS AND ARE GIVEN AT BOWNE.  PLEASE SEE MR. O IN ROOM 124, MR. S IN ROOM 122 OR YOUR GUIDANCE COUNSELOR FOR AN APPLICATION.
College Now Registration Closed
Due to an overwhelming response, College Now registration for the Fall semester at Queens College has been closed early as of Friday, May 4, 2012. All courses are full and there are no plans to add more at this time. If you have any questions or concerns, please see Mr. Cocheo in Room 247 periods 6, 8, & 9.

CFW student, Crystal Williams, is accepted into AMDA.
CFW student, Crystal Williams, recieved her official acceptance letter to pursue drama at AMDA (The American Musical and Dramatic Academy)--an extremely prestigious and competitive college and conservatory of the performing arts. Crystal is in the drama sector of the Center for Writing program, where she has been training and performing for the past two years. She has peformed lead roles in both mainstage productions during this time and is currently in rehearsals for the upcoming scene festival.

Senior Research Students are Semi-Finalists for the 2012 Young Naturalist Awards
Stephanie Solis, Kevin Singh, and Shanawaj Khair were chosen as semi-finalists for the 2012 Young Naturalist Awards—a research-based science competition for students in grades 7 through 12 across the country—which recognizes the accomplishments of students who have investigated questions they have in the areas of biology, Earth science, ecology, and astronomy.

John Bowne's Math Team Wins 2nd place in the Senior Division B of the Interscholastic Mathematics League. Congrats to them all!
A.P. Chemistry student makes it to the National Chemistry Olympiad.
Jun Jie Lin and Cong Cong Li under the supervision of Ms. Toledo prepared for the Local Chemistry Olympiad at Adelphi University. Jun scored in the top 10% making it to the National Chemistry Olympiad. Good luck to him.
NYC Students Win International Law Competition
NYC Students Win International Law Competition
An all-star team of New York City students won the final round of the International Moot Court Competition, held on February 17 at the Peace Palace in The Hague, Netherlands. The NYC students, assembled from 12 high schools across the five boroughs, beat out ten rival teams from Buenos Aires, Caracas, St. Petersburg, Warsaw, Gdansk, and The Hague. The competition, judged by a distinguished collection of jurists including judges on the International Criminal Court, measured oral argument in a fictional case concerning child soldiers.
